Guidance notes on completing this online application form

Please read these notes carefully before starting to complete the application form.

  • The online form has to be completed in one go and cannot be saved part way. So please do the preparation below in advance of starting the online form.
  • The purpose of completing this St Giles Trust online application form is for you to provide us with information about yourself which will help us to decide who to short list for interview. Completed application forms are matched against the requirements set out in the job description to create a shortlist. So what is included is important for you to get through to the next stage.
  • Please note when entering your details, there is a 50 character limit for each field.
  • Please note that we do not accept curriculum vitae (CVs) for any of the roles we advertise.
  • If you would like to receive an application form in a different format please contact with your specific requirements and we can email or post you a form.
  • The online form requires you to attach a personal statement as a Word document or pdf. Write your personal statement before completing the online form. You should carefully review the job description and person specification shown in the advertisement before you complete the application form. This will inform us of your suitability for the role and help us decide who will be short listed for interview. We are looking for you to demonstrate that you meet each point of the person specification, so you must clearly state in this statement exactly how you feel you match each of those person specification points, detailing your achievements and abilities relating to each of those points.
  • You will need to list your 5 (or less if you have less than 5) most recent jobs (voluntary or paid is fine), and your 6 (or less if you have less than 6) most relevant training or qualifications, so please have this information to hand with the relevant dates. In these sections please put them in date order with the most recent first.
  • Make sure that your application is specific to the job you are applying for. A personal statement, which you have prepared before, may not address all of the requirements for the role.
  • Remember to consider all your relevant skills and experience whether acquired at work or outside of work.
  • Unfortunately due to the large volumes of applications that we receive we are unable to write to those not short listed, so if you do not hear from us within 4 weeks please assume you have not been shortlisted.
